OFF TO A GREAT YEAR
Hello All....I guess everyone is wondering where we are shooting this week. After much deliberation I have decided to keep the Jacksonville Show Barn our meeting place. We may use alternate sites when the barn is not available. Please don't let this matter detour you from bringing the kids out to learn a great sport. We will meet this Saturday at the show barn @ 10:00 AM. Please do not let the fact that you missed out first practice day stop you from coming, our program allows for kids to pick up at any time during the lessons. For the parents that missed our informational meeting I will include a few things you should know prior to showing up on Saturday.
- All kids 9 yrs old or 8 yrs and in the third grade up to 19 are allowed to participate.
- There is no initial costs, all that is required is a good attitude and a willingness to listen and learn.
- For the first 6 lessons that your child attends he or she will have to use county equipment. County equipment are recurve bows shot with fingers only.
- After completing 6 lessons with recurve they are then allowed to bring personal equipment that has to pass our safety inspection. Note: They may elect to continue to use county equipment for practice and even compete with it.
- If kids use county equipment to compete they are required to provide they're competition arrows.
- No open toed shoes are allowed on the range.
- All long hair must be pulled back so that it may not get tangled on strings.
- SAFETY is most important while shooting.
Parents, If your child was at the first practice and left feeling that they didn't do that well let them know that they will get better. Please remind them that no one simply picks up a bow and is automatically good at shooting it. We will learn about proper form this week which will help them start grouping better. I look forward in seeing all that was there last week along with several more.

My Apologies!!
I am very sorry for all the confusion about the location of the Archery meeting this weekend. I was told one location and then at the last minute found out it wasn't available. I was unable to access the blog to update the change of location, so I hope that there wasn't too many people frustrated with the misunderstanding. Please do not let this keep you and your family from joining us in the future. We will posting more information soon about our newly found shooting location and meeting dates. We look forward to seeing you, and in the mean time if you need anything in regards to shooting sports information, please contact Clint or Vonnie Anderson or Willie Arnwine.
