Shooters Ready? Shooters Ready? YES!!
Well plans are in motion to get us back on track with practices and competitions. We will be announcing when our first class will take place very soon! It will be done a little differently than how we have done it in the past. We will spend a whole Saturday doing class time and activities! This will hopefully help us have more shooting and practice times in the future. We will post the date for this workshop day as well as a date for the Parent/Club Leaders informational meeting. Our meeting place may have changed from Jacksonville to Rusk, so stay tuned for more information!!

Congratulations are in order for some of our archry kiddos!!!
Last year Kalynn Compton and Clay Anderson both traveled to Bay City, TX and competed in an Indoor Archery Tournament, and they both did an excellent job! Kalynn placed 11th in her class and Clay placed 8th in his class. (Sorry it has taken so long for me to announce it!)
Recently, Clay Anderson and Lauren Spaine competed in an Indoor Archery Shoot again in Bay City, TX and they did great! Joshua Anderson also competed for his first time and did well! Lauren placed 4th in her class, Clay placed 7th in his class, and Joshua placed 9th in his class.

OFF TO A GREAT YEAR
Hello All....I guess everyone is wondering where we are shooting this week. After much deliberation I have decided to keep the Jacksonville Show Barn our meeting place. We may use alternate sites when the barn is not available. Please don't let this matter detour you from bringing the kids out to learn a great sport. We will meet this Saturday at the show barn @ 10:00 AM. Please do not let the fact that you missed out first practice day stop you from coming, our program allows for kids to pick up at any time during the lessons. For the parents that missed our informational meeting I will include a few things you should know prior to showing up on Saturday.
- All kids 9 yrs old or 8 yrs and in the third grade up to 19 are allowed to participate.
- There is no initial costs, all that is required is a good attitude and a willingness to listen and learn.
- For the first 6 lessons that your child attends he or she will have to use county equipment. County equipment are recurve bows shot with fingers only.
- After completing 6 lessons with recurve they are then allowed to bring personal equipment that has to pass our safety inspection. Note: They may elect to continue to use county equipment for practice and even compete with it.
- If kids use county equipment to compete they are required to provide they're competition arrows.
- No open toed shoes are allowed on the range.
- All long hair must be pulled back so that it may not get tangled on strings.
- SAFETY is most important while shooting.
Parents, If your child was at the first practice and left feeling that they didn't do that well let them know that they will get better. Please remind them that no one simply picks up a bow and is automatically good at shooting it. We will learn about proper form this week which will help them start grouping better. I look forward in seeing all that was there last week along with several more.
